Red Mountains to Red Sea
Hike through the enchanting, reddish Eilat Mountains on this one of a kind tour! We will climb to the top of Mount Zefahot, with beautiful views of the Gulf of Aqaba. From here, you can see four countries: Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Towards the evening, we will descend from the mountain directly to the beach to cool down in the water while watching the sunset with many shades of red and purple bathing the mountains of Jordan.
Leaving Eilat, the tour will take us southwest to a camel ranch between the mountains. We will begin with a moderate 45-minute hike along a wadi scattered with Acacia trees. After a short break, we will start up Mount Zefahot, a mild hour-long circular climb. Upon reaching the summit, we will enjoy a short break while we take in the view. From the mountain peak, the Gulf of Aqaba appears in its full glory, surrounded on all sides by the towering reddish-granite desert mountains, a quadripoint of four countries.
The sun will start setting while atop of summit, making the view even more majestic, as the whole desert bathes in red and purple hues.
Next, we will begin our 30-minute descent from the mountain, directly to the shore of the gulf. All along our way down, the sky and mountains continue changing colors as the sun sets over the desert.
Once we have arrived at the beach, take some free time to bathe in the cool waters of the Red Sea, where colorful fish are swimming at immediate proximity to the shoreline.
Enjoy the underwater beauty of the Red Sea for as long as you wish, and return using public transportation whenever you are ready. (Bus 16)
